Experience
Independent Consultant, 2002 – Present
Union Carbide Corporation, 1972 – 2002
Managed the technical team for the development and optimization of the proprietary Unipol® process to manufacture LLDPE, HDPE and early PP polymerization catalyst systems.
Involved with the full scope of Unipol® PE technology, from polymerization pilot plant and plant process development, through compounding and fabrication to product development and customer technical support.
One of three members of fundamental probe of technical and business opportunities in the Elastomers/Rubber industry for UCC polyolefins. Materials structure were our group responsibility, reporting to a corporate VP.
Provided compounding engineering support to unique concept of combining highly flammable PE with water-releasing inorganics and compatibilizers to make non-corrosive, flame-retardant wire insulation compounds.,
Worked in the LLDPE film product area, focused on butene and hexene resins for blown and cast films and, primarily, super hexene materials.
Provided Licensing Sales and Services support for the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe.
