Jubail Technical Studies
Projects:
- Seawater cooling canal hydraulics - Model study: Increasing canal system capacity and annual SWC sales to industries by 25% with no added investment.
- Pipe network distribution of desalinated water model study: Assess plans for water distribution and storage and improved site location of new tanks to eliminate double-handling of water and reduce pumping costs.
- Seawater cooling canal thermal behavior and outfall hydrodynamic mixing model study: Provided means to recycle up to 15% of flow and increase gross SWC supply to industries with annual savings of several million in U.S. funds.
- Desalination and power technology selection: Most promising technologies and recommended the least cost technology for Jubail. New plant site selection created savings in excess of $120 million during plant life.
- ARAMCO, methane and ethane gas supply from existing network. Provided plans for future pipe network expansions.
