  • A manufacturer of high speed printing systems producing color documents. Products sold worldwide directly and through partnerships with Xerox, IBM and Oce.

  • Managed the development of high speed color printing system products in response to the technical and business requirements of large corporations and service bureaus.
  • As part of a small, focused team, completed product development and marketing agreements with Xerox, IBM and Oce which resulted in a formal partnership to develop and market products.
  • Completed the design, development and implementation of two different product lines of web and sheet feed print products, which resulted in growing the business to $15 million in three years.
  • Built a technical team of 60 engineering, technical and consulting personnel. Directed the hiring, firing and teamwork necessary to deliver quality products in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.

Scan Code, Inc., E. Hartford, CT, 1991 - 1994

  • Manufacturer and distributor of mail processing systems throughout the United States and Canada.

Director of Operations

  • Managed the development and manufacturing of envelope scanning, optical character recognition and bar-coding products to meet the requirements of mail sorting customers in corporate environments and service bureaus.
  • Completed technical and business agreements and established a formal partnership with Bell & Howell to develop and market mail sorting products
  • Completed the design, development and implementation of an envelope scanning and bar-coding system for reject mail. Product sold and serviced domestically by Bell & Howell, Inc.
  • Created a final assembly and test operation for manufacturing mail-scanning systems that was previously outsourced. This resulted in a 35% reduction in cost of goods sold and a 20% improvement in delivery of products to market.
  • Designed, developed and implemented a flat mail (large envelopes) scanning, bar-coding and sorting system which rounded out the company's product line.
